Artificial Intelligence Transparency Statement
QRIDA is committed to the safe, responsible and transparent use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This page provides details of QRIDA’s implementation of the Digital Transformation Agency’s (DTA) Policy for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in government requirements, which sets a framework for the Australian Government’s safe and responsible adoption and use of AI, along with the Standard for AI transparency statements and Interim guidance on government use of public generative AI tools.
QRIDA’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy has been formed in conjunction with these guidance tools.
Why QRIDA uses AI
To achieve our vision of a thriving and financially resilient Queensland, QRIDA commits to the safe and responsible adoption of AI to take advantage of the various benefits the technology provides, allowing a business architecture that continuously improves while managing risks and governing with integrity.
How QRIDA uses AI
QRIDA uses generative and narrow model AI in line with the DTA’s Classification systems for AI use, as below:
Usage patterns
- Analytics for insights: analysing data to gain insights and automating activities to make tasks more efficient and increase workplace productivity. This allows staff to focus on more complex and meaningful work.
- Workplace productivity: automated routine tasks or workflows through inhouse programs or Microsoft systems.
Domains
- Compliance and fraud detection: through the use of IP address recognition systems and inhouse system pattern detection.
- Corporate and enabling: with standard operational efficiency improvement measures through the usage of Microsoft Outlook/Teams functions, finance programs, and media and communications systems.
QRIDA’s approach with AI
The introduction of new AI measures within the organisation will require a risk-based approach and appropriate levels of approval before implementation. QRIDA will not use AI for decision-making purposes.
QRIDA isn’t using AI applications where the public can directly interact with or be impacted by AI.
QRIDA’s commitment
QRIDA’s AI initiatives will align with the Federal and State Government values and have the public’s best interest at heart. QRIDA will continue to work closely with the DTA and use AI in accordance with applicable:
- legislation
- regulations
- frameworks
- policies
- best practice.
Safe and responsible AI adoption
QRIDA will be transparent in the responsible adoption of evolving AI technology and policy requirements.
These will align with the DTA’s Policy, advice and guidance on the safe, responsible and ethical use of AI.
QRIDA will leverage whole-of-government policies and develop internal policies and guidance materials when necessary for:
- AI governance and approval processes
- acceptable use of AI within the organisation
- ethical considerations
- Freedom of Information (FOI) considerations
- recordkeeping
- security, procurement of AI systems
- risk mitigation and technical guardrails
- roles and responsibilities when using AI and required training for identified roles.
These internal policies will apply to all employees (including contractors) and consultants.
QRIDA will update this transparency statement as the organisation continues to develop policies on AI usage and to implement AI technology.
